Patterson, others buy The Plex

A group enjoys spraying each other while riding the bumper boats at The Plex in this file photo from April 2007. Wichita Falls businessman Harry Patterson and a few other investors have purchased the 22-year-old complex and will operate it under the name The Family Fun Zone.

Harry Patterson is one who doesn't shy away from an opportunity to create a fun, family friendly community with numerous activities.

He and an investor group have taken another step in that direction by purchasing The Plex on Southwest Parkway.

"We are very excited about the major changes and turn-around we have planned for The Family Fun Zone, formerly The Plex," the Wichita Falls businessman said in a news release. "Our community needs a family-oriented entertainment venue that provides fun for all ages in a safe, clean and fun atmosphere."

The ownership change will officially take place Tuesday. Kenny and Melanie Nordeen will take over as owners and operators of the entertainment complex.

A group of students plays one of the two miniature golf courses at The Plex in this April 2007 file photo. The Plex entertainment center opened in February 1995 and has recently been purchased by Wichita Falls businessman Harry Patterson and a few others. It will be renamed The Family Fun Zone.

Renovations are planned for The Family Fun Zone including a new maple skate floor, remodeled bathrooms, updated landscaping, remodeled batting cages and more. The plan is for the business to continue operating during the renovation process.

The Plex Family Entertainment Center first opened in February 1995. Construction on the 18,000-square-feet facility began in 1993.

Doug McCulloch, the previous owner, said in a 2007 Times Record News article that he, as a real estate broker, helped his father purchase 164 acres along Southwest Parkway in 1992.

"We had been working on the idea to initiate the development," he said at the time. "I like kids and thought it would be a good project for the town and us."

The Plex, as it was more commonly known over the years, initially also included a driving range for golfers, but was later taken out. The facility was expanded in late 2007 with a 22,000-square-feet skate rink.

Very nice wooden skate floor and cool laser tag vests. The staff was very friendly and the pizza was good.

No effort to keep/make nice.

We first played the putt putt course 5 years ago. The course was in rough shape. We have gone back about 5 more times...each time expecting general repairs to have been made and the course to be kept clear of debris. Last week was the LAST time. We will just wait till we visit friends and family in other towns to play putt putt. You'd think management would buy a blower and have an employee blow leaves and sticks off the course daily...nope. You'd think the outdoor carpet could be repaired or replaced over a 5 year period...nope. You'd think light bulbs could be replaced...nope. ...replace some rotten wood on props... repaint...nope...nope.

Great fun

Feb 2018 • Family

We stopped in with teenager and a 3 year old. The seating area was very clean. There is a lot to do here for all ages. The teenager enjoyed the go carts, laser tag, put put golf, and all the games. The 3 year old enjoyed the games, and then trading the tickets for toys. We had a pizza with everything and drinks for about $20. The pizza was very good. The whole family had fun. We will come back again.

So So experience

Aug 2016 • Family

We went here to celebrate a birthday. The place must be saving costs by turning up the thermostats. Which is not a good sign. There are video games, go-karts, bumper boats, putt putt golf, and roller skating onsite. The go-karts were fun even tho it was a little hot outside. The games seemed to be a little high to me (tokens only) compared to Chuck E. Cheese. The pizza was ok. The little kids enjoyed it, but the teens/adults congregated near the fans to cool off.

Clean and nice

Jul 2016 • Family

Took young teens for birthday. Not crowded at all for a Monday. Didn't order food, kids played number cars, laser tag and video games. Nice friendly place to take teens for something to do. We come here several times a year. Always have friendly staff and clean areas.

Better than nothing

Jul 2016 • Family

For Wichita Falls this is your option for mini golf, go carts, and other similar attractions. Lawton is the closest option for similar activities. The only thing we do is the golf because chuck e cheese is better for kids that want to play games, and the food is better. So biggest complaint about the golf is that it is upkeep has a lot to be desired. Last time we went it had greens that were pealing up, stagnant water, and many areas seemed to need paint

Great place

Jun 2016 • Family

Great place to take the family for games, bumper boats, go-carts and putt putt. They also have food and roller skating. (Did not do those 2 activities so I can't review that part.) Prices were reasonable and facility mostly clean and kept-up. One of the outdoor ponds was rancid (probably from the recent rains). Putty putt course was fun and interesting. Would recommend and would go again. .

Great place for kids

Jan 2016 • Family

This place has more coin operated kids attractions than you can shake a stick at! It's great if you are, for example, a 10 year old.......SOOOOO much to do. It's equally great if you are a 66 year old can give them a bunch of tokens (you get them there) and turn the kids loose! Let them wear themselves out. It also has a roller rink, a miniature golf course, batting cages, and a go cart track. Only down side is that management is "very proud", and I mean "very proud", of their food offerings.

Needs an Overhaul

Mar 2016 • Family

We went during spring break in the evening, but it was not crowded.
Many of the games were broken. Some were labeled out of order, but many you had to find out the hard way. We ordered pizza, and it took a long time to come out and we had to hunt down plates and napkins. There are absolutely no healthy options, so be prepared to eat fried food or grease. The counter for turning in tickets for prizes was super slow and INCONSISTENT in process leading to confusion for those in wait.

Fun in Wichita Falls: The Plex

The Plex. From roller-skating to bumper boats, to an indoor arcade to outdoor mini-golf, it’s the perfect date night.

Kirstie Lipp, a server at Chili’s, usually attends The Plex with her fiancé, Tom.

“Mini-golf, go-carts and lazer tag. Those are all things I’m really good at,” said Lipp, “I like the competitive nature associated with the games, because my fiancé and I like to bet and see who will win out of the two of us.”

For other attendees, their biggest reason for visiting is to do something fun with a group of friends.

Samantha Campbell, birth parent counselor and Plex guest, said, “I’ve been there two or three times, back when I was attending MSU, to play mini golf, go-carts, and hit up the batting cages with friends.”

Since The Plex’s grand opening in 1995, no new new rides or attractions have been added, but annual renovations help keep everything working well.

Paula Hill, vice president of operations, said, “Most people don’t realize how much hard work and effort goes into making this place look good every day.” Hill has been working with The Plex since for over 18 years, since she started in 1997 as a part-time.

Throughout her 18 years of employment, Hill has gotten the chance to observe first-hand what type of crowd is predominantly drawn to The Plex.

“Primarily families with children are drawn here,” Hill said, “because we have a big room that can be rented out for birthday parties.” “As for the college student population,” Hill said, “we don’t see many college students; we see more kids in middle school because this is like their cool hangout spot on the weekends.”

Price is a concern for most college students. With admission at The Plex ranging from $5-$22, it makes it difficult for students to justify spending the money. The Plex offers printable coupons for $1 off of bumper boats, mini-golf, lazer tag and the roller plex.

Lipp said if she had known about the coupons, she would have made more of an effort to visit.

“I already texted my fiancé and told him we are going next Thursday, our next day off together,” Lipp said.

Hill said she thinks the idea of having a college discount is wonderful.

“I know college students are financially burdened, “ said Hill, “The idea of having a student discount or night dedicated to them would benefit.”

Campbell and Lipp both agreed on one thing: recommending The Plex to others due to their variety of rides and attractions.

Campbell, a 2014 MSU graduate, said “I would recommend it to the college crowd because it has a variety of things for everyone to enjoy, which makes it fun to go with a group of friends.”

Lipp said, “I would recommend this place to people of all ages because they have something for everyone, as well as some of the best pizza in town.”

5 Reasons You Should Never Move to Wichita Falls

WFFD battle blaze at Family Fun Zone

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Firefighters with the Wichita Falls Fire Department have contained a fire at a local family entertainment establishment.

The call came in at around 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, October 7 in reference to a fire at the Family Fun Zone, formerly The Plex, in the 4100 block of Southwest Parkway.

The fire appears to have occurred on a pirate ship structure on the miniature golf course.

At least four fire trucks were on the scene, as well as AMR and Fire Marshals.

The Family Fun Zone does not open on weekdays until 4 p.m., so the fire occurred while the Family Fun Zone was closed.

It is unknown at this time if anyone was injured as a result of this fire, what caused the fire, or the extent of the damage.

This is a developing story. Stick with Texoma’s Homepage for updates as they become available.

"Date of stay: 3-4 November 2018 The property is well kept and well represented. The only problem I encountered is that I made my three-room reservation on and when we arrived at the hotel, each of the three of us paid with our personal credit card. When I received my credit card bill a few weeks later, I discovered that I had been billed for all three rooms. I still have not received remuneration for these charges. I would certainly like to get my money refunded for the other rooms. As of December 20, 2018, I have not yet been reimbursed for the other room charges. "

Pros and Cons of Living in Wichita Falls

As you say brother. I put my fingers in the pussy and pussy juices began to lubricate her anus. The member stood like a stone. Fixing it to the hole, I began to inject. It hurt me a lot that I closed my eyes and then opened and saw her, my own sister Marinka, my hard-to-reach, her boobs in this state.

Now discussing:

I lowered it so much. I was still so drunk I was so drunk and finally exploded and I say. kiss my feet fuck.
