A few weeks ago, workers were applying a fresh coat of paint on the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home. The building, constructed in the 1830s, is one of the oldest in the county and is a landmark for anyone visiting Taylorsville.

Stephen Collins, Hall-Taylor president, said preserving the historic building is a task they take seriously.

“I’m a great believer in trying to preserve as much as you can,” he said, adding that maintaining the stately facility is a plus for the community as well.

“It kind of makes Taylorsville,” he said, noting how the white, two story structure stands out along Main Street.

As beautiful as the building is on the outside, it’s just as pretty on the inside. Originally constructed as a stage coach house and hotel nearly 200 years ago, the building has served as a funeral home for much of the past century. However, when Hall-Taylor purchased it in 1996, major renovations were required.

“There was no heat and no air conditioning. We put in all new plumbing and electric,” said Collins. By 1998, it was ready to open and Hall-Taylor has been operating it ever since.

With the same care and attention to detail that they restored the building, Hall-Taylor is similarly committed to serving the people of Spencer County, often during very emotional times.

The passing of a loved one can take a toll on a family. With years of experience, Hall-Taylor has discovered that each family is unique and they take the time to patiently plan and conduct dignified services that honor both the deceased and the grieving.

“We try to make it a little bit easier on the families,” said Collins. “If there’s a creed by which Hall-Taylor operates, it would be focusing on each family “when personal service means the most.”

While death is an unpleasant topic for most, Collins said the key for those in his profession is to focus on taking care of people in their time of need. He said he and the employees at Hall-Taylor never lose sight of the responsibility of catering to the wishes of the family.

“It becomes a way of life,” said Collins. “You really have to care about people.”

He said there are four core values practiced at Hall-Taylor when it comes to meeting the needs of families.

The first is compassion. Realizing the pain a family feels during a time of great loss is crucial to understanding and meeting the details of their arrangements.

Anticipating their needs is also important. The Hall-Taylor staff is prepared to help guide grieving families through a process that can be new and strange to them.

The third value, organization, is vital for keeping things in order and professional. Finally, the fourth value is about making sure things go smoothly, a quality perfected through years of putting the needs of families above all else.

Hall-Taylor also operates a funeral home in Shelbyville and the ties between both operations goes back many decades. A sweet wave of anticipation ran over me. Raising my leg a little, I gave Sena the opportunity to enter my ass. He pressed on the ring of the anus and he easily released his penis inside. A shiver of pleasure ran through my body. We began to move, trying to catch the rhythm of each other's movements.
